Dungeon Rescue Information

(To set the mood, here's some music.)

Haru's dungeon takes the form of a "condensed" version of the Phantom Thief Experience between her joining the team and the endgame canon point.

Things to note:

- All arrivals in the dungeon will wind up in Phantom Thief costumes, regardless of if they handwave-knew Haru in the past. Persona users will get masks, but can choose to summon in their old way all the same; non-purses won't, but they're free to use their existing skills.

- While Thieves' voices might be heard during the run through the dungeon, most of them won't be seen in person - on top of this, their voices won't be identifiable, even Akira's for those who knew him. (Haru's subconscious respects her friends' secrecy, OK?) Equally, they'll only be referred to by codenames.

- Dungeon mooks can be negotiated with, as well as fought, but any wildcards or similar coming through won't get any new Personas from it; they'll mostly give HP and SP restoratives if asked nicely, or similarly useful supplies. There are safe rooms, but none of the areas are as long as the original versions in any case, and most of the puzzles have been pre-solved.

- The portal is triggered by activating a faux-Metaverse Navigator (a specialised app) on a discarded cellphone with some liminal weirdness around it that Dimensional Senses can pick up.

- The sequence of events:
-- Start in her dad's Palace. AKA his dungeon, kind of thing. Outer space! The route will go through all the main areas: the cool space station, the robot factory, and the airlock stuff. Where the boss would be, her father's voice can be heard, and swarms of robots will attempt to block the group from escaping up the tower.
-- Mementos, part one. Welcome to subway hell. This is a drive in a kitty-eared van through a single long floor that twists on downwards and changes to match the different regions of Mementos. The cat-car himself'll give information on Haru's situation, but he won't be the best conversation overall, generally talking as if he was talking to Phantom Thieves who know what's happening already. The stairs at the end will lead to-
-- Sae's Casino is next, and while there are normal looking people here they act completely clueless about anything that might be up with regard to the monsters running around or the weirdos in costume. There's no need to go rig slots or gamble like maniacs to get through the doors or over the bridge to the boss area, but guards will swarm the group in the boss area and force them to flee to-
-- Shido's Cruise. Minibosses ahoy! And while most of the doors are unlocked, there's at least one puzzle where everyone ends up mice. The fight with Akechi happens here, too, more or less as it would normally. (There's a safe room beforehand this time, though.) As with Okumura's Palace, Shido isn't present himself, and taking the 'treasure' at the end will set the ship sinking. Escape it to get-
-- -back to Mementos, dropping them right at the entrance to the depths. Again, the puzzles are done, but it's still creepy as ever with NPCs locked up and generally looking brainwashed and brain-sucked. However, before the end, there's a detour to the -
-- Velvet Prison. No 'Igor', no attendants. Haru herself is locked up here, but what appears to be her Shadow is guarding her; a yellow-eyed version of herself in glamorous thief gear. She seems ... concerned for Haru, rather than anything else, but she's still not happy with the intruders. Eventually, she transforms into Astarte and gives not one crap about sticking to an eight move skillset. As bosses do.
Persuade them both it's time to let go and come back to Travelling - they reunite, the doorway opens, well done team! A long stairway leads up and out of the prison and up to the top of a tower. Tokyo can be seen from here, though it changes from 'creepy as heck' to 'normal' as they go. Along the way, Haru'll fill her rescuers in on the rough details of her situation, depending what they ask.
One last person's there (purrson?) - a glowy catlike figure who'll thank them, give them a message (seriously, P5 after endboss spoilers) and then Liminal fades back into being.

... Keeping the costumes is optional.

Y halo thar, fellow Priestess girl. Guess who has Dimensional Senses, a purse from Shinji's dungeon and can handwavedly find your phone? Also who can drive the Monamobile if you need someone with a license (and Drive ••.)

She'd wear a bunny or butterfly half-mask (probably something with details of both) and her thief's outfit probably looks a lot like this. And fuck yes she's keeping it.

I can offer any of mine. Helena or Naoto would go willingly, Matt could just fall in because he's a Dumb.

Helena and Naoto (duhhhhh) already have purses. Matt, I could figure out something. He's going to get one eventually.

Let me know who you'd like, and I'll describe things. :D

Phillip can come with. I will need to think of a different thief costume for him, since in Newport he basically had Akira's look. :P

If Lupa is back by then (and I'm gonna try to start tagging again Oct 1st, so he's probably coming back technically at the start of the intro mingle) he'd definitely go! Apparently getting sent on a side-quest by a maybe-dungeon is not enough to make him shy away from other dungeons No idea what he'd end up wearing, but he'd be entering in actual normal clothes (probably jeans and a denim vest). Well for certain definitions of that would inspire the question "are you allergic to shirts?"

He'd be very interested in all the things, and ask lots of questions (probably surrounding demon vs. persona vs avatars and world mechanics), annnd try to take actual charge, because after his dungeon and his little side-trip, he's feeling a lot more sure of himself as a leader in the grand-er scheme of things. But one vital question: are the demons tasty?

Jean will join the rescue! As he has a Persona he will have a mask... likely something dog or wolf themed, considering how his tiresias rolls.

Nooot sure on costume but he'll likely end up keeping it around.

I think I'll throw Usagi here for some great start of their CR and she gets to see Tokyo again, no way she'd want to miss that in the end. Need to go costume diving etc but let's rescue the cupcake! :3

Somehow I don't think Shinji's clothes would change all that much. XD I'm also not sure what would be up for a mask, but he'd definitely have one, which may come as a surprise to people who weren't in his dungeon once the common theme gets worked out.

He'd also probably save his questions for later, since... well, Strega. If that's what's going on, Haru shouldn't have to answer it in front of everyone, and if it's not, he doesn't wanna have to explain in front of a big group either. Also if you need someone to do a 'yes but are you a Persona user' after the fact, Shinji can do the thing.

(...it may be more useful for him to keep the mask than the clothes...)
